Man arrested on terroristic threat charge in Clinton

CLINTON, NY — A 34-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a member of Congress.

Christopher Moynihan, of Clinton, was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D felony.

On Oct. 18, the State Police were advised by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force that Moynihan had made threats to kill a member of Congress.

The arrest was made by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Poughkeepsie in conjunction with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Following his arrest, Moynihan was arraigned before the Town of Clinton Court.

He was remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, a $30,000 bond, or an $80,000 partially secured bond.

Moynihan is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.
