ROME, NY — A tractor-trailer overturned on State Route 365 on Oct. 16, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Deputies responded to the single-vehicle rollover accident at approximately 9:51 p.m.

Jeremy Gilbert, 53, of Utica, was traveling east on State Route 365 in a 2022 Mack semi-truck with a fully loaded trailer when he exited the northern shoulder of the roadway, crossed the median into the westbound lane, and overturned, deputies said.

The Mack then continued to slide across the roadway until it exited the northern shoulder of the westbound lane and came to rest.

Rome Fire Department and AmCare Ambulance responded to the scene.

Gilbert was transported to WYNN Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies determined that Gilbert was at fault for the accident due to failing to maintain his lane.

Gilbert was issued a traffic ticket for failure to maintain lane and will appear in Rome City Court at a later date.

Mike Jr’s Automotive assisted in the tow.
