Man arrested in Pleasant Valley drug raid

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — A New Jersey man has been arrested following a narcotics investigation in Pleasant Valley.

William Oliver, 33, of New Jersey, was taken into custody Oct. 8 after the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at his apartment in the Pleasant Valley Garden Apartments.

The investigation began after Drug Task Force agents conducted multiple purchases of narcotics from Oliver at the apartment, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.

Drug Task Force agents, assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit and the Poughkeepsie SWAT team, arrested Oliver without incident.

Oliver was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

He was arraigned in Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.

The Drug Task Force was assisted by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Dangerous Drugs and Violent Crime Unit, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Bureau, the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit, the Beacon Police Department, the Fishkill Police Department, the East Fishkill Police Department, the Hyde Park Police Department, the Pleasant Valley building department and the Poughkeepsie Police Department.
