LIVERMORE, ME — The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man following a domestic violence incident that prompted a tactical team response.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at approximately 10:45 p.m. Oct. 16 reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence on Newman Road.
A female victim told dispatchers that an argument had escalated into a physical altercation.
The victim said that as she attempted to leave the residence, the male suspect allegedly shut off power to the home and then exited the residence, firing three rounds from a firearm outside.
Deputies responded to the scene and attempted to make contact with the suspect, but those attempts were unsuccessful.
The Maine State Police Tactical Team was requested to assist given the severity of the situation and the potential threat to public safety.
An arrest warrant and a search warrant were obtained.
The tactical team took David A. Newman, 32, of Livermore, into custody at approximately 5:55 a.m. without further incident.
Newman has been charged with domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal threatening with a firearm and domestic violence reckless conduct with a firearm.
Newman was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
