11 mopeds seized in Hyde Park enforcement operation

BOSTON, MA — Officers conducted a scooter and moped enforcement operation in Hyde Park on Wednesday.

The operation was carried out by officers assigned to District E-18 in response to ongoing public safety concerns involving mopeds and scooters and their connection to auto law violations, thefts, robberies, and shootings.

Officers seized and towed 11 mopeds during the targeted operation.

Citations and criminal summonses were issued to 11 individuals for violations including operating unregistered and uninsured motor vehicles.

The Boston Police Department said targeted enforcement operations are part of an ongoing effort to address illegal vehicle activity and to deter criminal behavior associated with mopeds and scooters.
