STAMFORD — A man was arrested following a narcotics investigation on the city’s West Side on Oct. 11.
Danny Turkvan, 54, of Stamford, was arrested by the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for Turkvan and his Spruce Street residence.
During surveillance, officers observed him exit his home and hide a bag in a nearby tree.
He was immediately taken into custody, and officers recovered $728 in cash.
The hidden bag contained a knotted bag holding 53 smaller bags of crack cocaine, weighing a total of 12.7 grams.
Turkvan was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and operating a drug factory.
He was issued a $250,000 bond, with a court date scheduled for Oct. 27.
Turkvan had previously been sentenced in federal court to 46 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for his role in a drug trafficking organization that distributed large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine throughout southwestern Connecticut.
He was out on bond awaiting his Oct. 16 report date to begin his federal prison sentence when this arrest occurred.
