CALEDONIA — A 36-year-old woman faces multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing from a victim’s bank account while the victim was in a rehabilitation center.
Sarah Randolph, of Caledonia, was arrested Oct. 13 by Livingston County Sheriff’s Investigator Martin Herkimer.
The investigation began Aug. 14 when the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an individual who reported a larceny from their bank account.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to meet with the victim and commenced an investigation into the alleged theft.
Investigators allege that Randolph gained access to the victim’s wallet and checkbook while the victim was in a rehabilitation center.
Randolph was charged with one count of felony forgery in the second degree, two counts of felony grand larceny in the fourth degree, two counts of felony identity theft in the second degree and one count of misdemeanor petit larceny.
She was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Dansville Justice Kenney.
Randolph was released on her own recognizance as the offenses do not qualify for bail under New York State bail reform.
