CALEDONIA — A Monroe County woman has been arrested on felony charges following a months-long investigation into a motor vehicle theft.
Christine Laffin, 56, of Gates, was arrested Oct. 10 and charged with felony Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on State Street in the Village of Caledonia on March 21 for a report of a larceny involving a motor vehicle.
Through their investigation, deputies identified Laffin as the suspect and obtained a warrant for her arrest.
Sheriff’s investigators located and arrested Laffin in Monroe County on Oct. 10.
Laffin was transported to the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
She was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Mount Morris Justice Ossont.
The judge released Laffin on her own recognizance, as the offense did not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Laffin at the arraignment.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
