JAMESTOWN — Two people were arrested on animal cruelty charges after police found two malnourished dogs at a residence on the north side of the city.
Officers responded to a report of animal cruelty at approximately 3:31 p.m. on Oct. 14.
Police observed two malnourished dogs in poor health at the scene.
Robert J. Santiago and Melissa E. Santiago, the owners of the dogs, were arrested.
Both dogs were seized by authorities.
The couple was transported to the city jail, where they were booked and later released with appearance tickets.
Robert Santiago and Melissa Santiago are each charged with two counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring an animal, and failure to provide sustenance.
