WALTON — Sheriff Craig DuMond announced the arrest of a Walton man for two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
At around 10 a.m. Friday, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an assault in progress complaint in the Town of Walton.
Prior to arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies learned that the suspect, Jeremy T. Stafford, 41, of Walton, had an active arrest warrant from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, Deputies conducted interviews and found that Stafford engaged in a physical altercation in front of his two children while at the residence.
Stafford was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both class A misdemeanors of New York State Penal Law.
Stafford was processed and issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Walton Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Stafford was then turned over to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office on their arrest warrant.
