QUINCY — A man was arrested on multiple weapons charges following an investigation into a storage unit break-in.
Dennis B. Costin, 40, of Quincy, was arrested by Quincy Police with assistance from Boston Police in Dorchester at around 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 12.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a breaking and entering at a Squantum storage area unit.
Following Costin’s arrest, Quincy Police detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence.
Detectives seized two rifles, three pistols, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, a smoke grenade and various firearms component parts.
Costin is charged with seven counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device, two counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, illegal possession of ammunition/chemical substance, five counts of improper storage of a firearm, being an armed career felon, violation of the assault weapons law and five counts of possession of a firearm without a firearms identification card.
Costin was arraigned on Oct. 14 in Quincy District Court and was held pending a dangerousness hearing on Oct. 17.
