Bath man arrested on drug charges after parole check

BATH — Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department were called to the Budget Inn at approximately 10:10 a.m. Oct. 3 to assist New York State Parole Officers, who had located a quantity of methamphetamine in the possession of a parolee.

Upon arrival, parole officers advised that they had responded to the location to conduct a parole compliance check on Richard P. Ames, age 58.

During the compliance check, parole found Ames to be in possession of a felony amount of methamphetamine.

Ames was taken into custody and charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, a Class C Felony.

Ames was transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment, where he remains held without bail.
