Man charged with DUI, fentanyl possession after found passed out in vehicle Clarendon

CLARENDON — A 38-year-old Shrewsbury man faces drug and impaired driving charges after Vermont State Police found him passed out behind the wheel at an intersection Oct. 12.

Jeremiah St. Pierre was discovered unconscious in his vehicle at the intersection of Cold River Road and North Shrewsbury Road at approximately 5:33 p.m., according to police.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks responded to reports of the stopped vehicle with an unconscious operator.

St. Pierre showed signs of impairment and was processed for driving under the influence of drugs, police said.

A consent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl.

St. Pierre was transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks for processing and released on a citation.

He is scheduled to appear in Rutland County Superior Court, Criminal Division on Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. to answer charges of DUI drugs and fentanyl possession.

The Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service assisted troopers at the scene.
