Man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN — A Brocton man was arrested on drug and impaired driving charges after a traffic stop early Oct. 9.

Officers observed a vehicle commit a traffic infraction around 2:16 a.m. in the area of N Main St and W 7th St.

Police conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Steven J Seavy of Brocton.

Investigation found Seavy was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Seavy was found in possession of a large quantity of Methylphenidate tablets, a controlled substance.

He was also in possession of methamphetamine and Buprenorphine & Naloxone sublingual films.

Seavy was transported to the Jamestown City jail and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (felony), and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.

In a separate incident at approximately 5:50 p.m. Oct. 9, officers responded to a call regarding an unwanted person on the city’s north side.

Investigation revealed that Kaisha Diaz, 27, of Jamestown, had engaged in an altercation with a victim.

During the incident, Diaz bit, struck and attempted to choke the victim, and damaged a window screen before fleeing the scene.

Diaz was located at her residence a short time later and taken into custody without incident.

She is charged with assault in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.

At approximately 7:22 p.m. Oct. 9, officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Dollar General on Winsor Street.

Officers located Anthony M. Camarata, 41, of Jamestown, a short distance from the store, matching a description provided by a store employee.

Camarata was taken into custody and officers discovered stolen goods on his person during the arrest.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment due to several previous failures to appear in court.

On Oct. 10 at 7:22 p.m., officers responded to an address on the east side of the city for a physical domestic incident.

Officers made contact with Brandon L. Adams during the investigation.

Police determined Adams got into an altercation with a victim who is less than 17 years old.

During the altercation, Adams kicked a door that struck the victim, causing a hand injury.

Adams was taken into custody without incident and transported to city jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.

He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
