3 injured in early morning collision on Long Ridge Road in Stamford

STAMFORD — The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating a serious injury motor vehicle collision that occurred in front of 2635 Long Ridge Road on Sunday at approximately 4:37 a.m.

A 2016 Volkswagen SUV was traveling northbound on Long Ridge Road.

A 2016 Nissan SUV was turning around in the parking lot at 2635 Long Ridge Road and pulled out of the lot to head south on Long Ridge Road in front of the Volkswagen and the vehicles collided causing severe damage to both vehicles.

The operator of the Nissan, a 39-year-old Norwalk resident, suffered serious, potentially life-threatening injuries in the collision and needed to be extricated from the vehicle due to the damage.

The injuries to the operator, a 24-year-old Stamford resident, and front seat passenger, a 30-year-old Stamford resident of the Volkswagen are not life-threatening.

All three occupants were transported to Stamford Hospital Emergency Department for treatment.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The investigation necessitated the partial closure of Long Ridge Road for approximately 5 hours.
