SOUTH HERO — State Police are investigating the theft of four bicycles from the Island Line Bicycle Trail.
David Peterson, 43, of South Hero reported the theft at approximately 9:44 a.m. Saturday.
Peterson told police he secured the bicycles on the bike path Friday evening but discovered them missing when he returned Saturday morning.
The stolen bicycles include a black Giant Talon 29-inch mountain bike with aftermarket skinny tires from around 2020.
Also taken was an orange Cannondale Quick 20-inch children’s bike from around 2018.
Police said thieves also stole a light blue Diamondback hybrid bike with a small frame and skinny tires on 26-inch wheels.
The fourth stolen bicycle was described as a custom 26-inch mountain bike with a red steel Voodoo Wanga frame and Fox suspension fork.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact State Police.
