HADLEY — Shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, Hadley Public Safety Dispatch received a 911 call for a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Route 9 and Route 116, that one of the drivers was leaving the scene, and that the vehicle was a grey Nissan SUV.
Moments later, responding officers observed a grey SUV traveling westbound on Russell Street at a high rate of speed.
Officers attempted to catch the vehicle, although due to the vehicle’s speed, lost sight of the vehicle very quickly.
As officers continued to try to locate the vehicle, they came upon a crash at the intersection of Russell Street and Middle Street, involving the vehicle that had left the scene of the previous crash.
All drivers were able to exit their vehicles under their own power, and were transported to area hospitals.
The driver of the Nissan SUV, a 32-year-old male from West Springfield, will be summoned to court for various motor vehicle charges.
