SCITUATE — Troopers arrested Cherie Hart, age 40, of Cranston on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 9:20 a.m. for an active Affidavit and Arrest Warrant.
Hart was charged with conspiracy – felony less than 5 years, obtaining property by false pretenses/personation over $10,000, fraudulently obtaining public assistance over $500, fraudulent use of food stamps over $500, access to computer for fraudulent purposes, and giving false document to agent, employee, or public official.
The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation conducted by Trooper Hawkins and the subject turning herself in at State Police Headquarters, where she was processed, and later transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
On Thursday, Oct. 9, at 10:10 a.m., troopers arrested William Contreras, age 45, of Providence for driving without an ignition interlock system – first offense.
The arrest was the result of a commercial enforcement safety inspection on Route 6 in the Town of Johnston.
The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters, where he was processed, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and later transported to Third Division District Court for arraignment.
