ROME — New York State Police are investigating a homicide following an early morning shooting May 10.
At approximately 4:33 a.m., troopers were dispatched to a residence on Elmer Hill Road for a report of a possible assault.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as Mark A. Capparelli, 56, of Rome.
Capparelli was transported to Wynn Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation is being led by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
