SPRINGPORT — A 50-year-old Auburn man was arrested Oct. 5 on a warrant charging him with criminal contempt in the second degree.
Christopher A. Coyle Sr. was taken into custody at 6:15 p.m. after turning himself in at the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck.
The arrest stemmed from an Aug. 26 investigation into an alleged order of protection violation in the Town of Springport.
Deputies reported that Coyle violated a full stay-away order of protection by being in the presence of the victim at approximately 3:57 p.m. that day.
Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was requested and granted for criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
Coyle was processed and brought to Cayuga County Jail for arraignment at 7 p.m. Oct. 5.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Springport Court at a later date.
