Clinton woman arrested on DWI charges after crash with children in car

CLINTON — A 32-year-old Clinton woman was arrested Oct. 9 on two counts of Leandra’s Law DWI and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Chasity R. Cruz-DeJesus was taken into custody following a motor vehicle accident on Chestnut Street in the village of Clinton on the evening of Oct. 8.

Deputies assigned to Road Patrol and Stop DWI Patrol responded to the crash.

An investigation determined that Cruz-DeJesus was operating the vehicle with a suspended New York state driver’s license.

Two children, ages 6 and 3, were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Cruz-DeJesus was transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement building, where she was processed and charged with numerous traffic and penal violations.

She was held at the Oneida County Jail and arraigned Oct. 9 in Centralized Arraignment Court.
