11-year-old found dead from gunshot wound in Newburgh home

NEWBURGH — Police responded to a shooting at a residence on North Miller Street Thursday morning and found an 11-year-old dead from a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived at 184 North Miller Street at approximately 8:17 a.m. Oct. 9 after receiving reports of a shooting incident inside the home.

The victim was found deceased inside the residence, according to the City of Newburgh Police Department.

No further information about the victim or the incident will be released at this time, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
