Cortlandville man arrested on assault charge after McGraw disturbance

CORTLANDVILLE — A 25-year-old man was arrested on an assault charge following a disturbance in the Village of McGraw early Saturday morning.

Michael J. Warner of Merihew Road in the Town of Freetown was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers investigated a disturbance that occurred on Center Street in McGraw at approximately 12:44 a.m. Oct. 5.

Police determined Warner engaged in a physical altercation with a known victim, causing several injuries.

Warner was arrested at 3:02 a.m. and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

He was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8:00 a.m. Oct. 5 and released on his own recognizance.

Warner is scheduled to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court on Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m.
