Richford man dies in single-vehicle crash on Troy Street

RICHFORD — A 75-year-old man died Thursday after his pickup truck left the roadway and sideswiped a house on Troy Street near the intersection of Farrar Street.

Edward Doyle of Richford was driving eastbound on Troy Street at approximately 12:02 p.m. when his 2015 Chevrolet Silverado left the right side of the roadway, according to Vermont State Police.

The truck sideswiped a house before coming to rest in the intersection of Troy Street and Farrar Street.

Police believe Doyle suffered a medical event prior to leaving the roadway and that the fatality was not caused by the crash.

The truck sustained passenger side damage in the incident.

Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.

Vermont State Police were assisted at the scene by the Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement Division, Richford Fire and Rescue, Enosburg Rescue, and Larose’s Wrecker Service.

Doyle was transported to Northwestern Medical Center.
