WILTON — State Police arrested a 44-year-old Wilton man Sept. 30 on charges related to child sexual exploitation.
Aaron M. Edwards faces charges of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class D felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class E felony.
Edwards is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
The arrest followed an investigation and execution of a search warrant at Edwards’ residence in Wilton on Sept. 30.
The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
State Police worked with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Edwards was transported to State Police Wilton where he was processed and arrested.
He was arraigned at Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correction Facility.
Bail was set at $20,000 cash, $40,000 bond, or $200,000 partially secured bond.
