Police find human remains during search for Wallingford man

WALLINGFORD — Human remains were discovered in woods near Nash Drive at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday during the search for a 62-year-old man wanted on domestic assault charges.

The Vermont State Police Search and Rescue Team found the remains in the vicinity of Rodney Davis’ home while continuing search efforts for the Wallingford resident.

Positive identification of the remains could not be made at the scene.

The body was recovered and will be transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to confirm identity and determine the cause and manner of death.

Davis was wanted on charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault, unlawful restraint and burglary stemming from an incident on Nash Drive on Sept. 19 at approximately 5:19 a.m.

The Vermont State Police do not release the names of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.
