Utica woman arrested in stabbing on Ash Street

UTICA — A 26-year-old woman was arrested Saturday night after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend during an argument in the 1100 block of Ash Street.

Utica Police and Fire units responded to the scene at approximately 8 p.m. Oct. 4 following reports of a stabbing.

Officers found a male victim who reported his girlfriend had cut him on both arms with a knife during an argument.

The victim was transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment.

Monaya Blanco of Utica was taken into custody at the scene.

Police discovered Blanco had outstanding warrants related to another stabbing incident that occurred in July.

Blanco was transported to the Utica Police Department and booked on the outstanding warrants for assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

She faces new charges of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree in connection with Saturday’s incident.
