AVON — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Genesee County resident on felony and misdemeanor charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
On Sept. 16, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a business on Avon-East Avon Road in the Town of Avon for the report of a larceny that had occurred in a motor vehicle.
Sheriff’s Investigators began an investigation into the grand larceny and through the investigation, the suspect was identified as 43-year-old Jeremy Hoskins, of the Town of LeRoy, Genesee County.
On Oct. 1, Sheriff’s Investigators James Merrick and Michael Wade arrested Hoskins who was located in Lancaster, N.Y. and charged him with felony grand larceny in the third degree and misdemeanor issuing a false financial statement.
Hoskins was transported to the Livingston County Jail where he was turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Hoskins was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Nunda Justice Morris.
The judge released Hoskins on his own recognizance, as the offense did not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Hoskins at the court arraignment for his defense.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was notified and appeared to represent the People.
