Aurelius woman arrested on menacing, harassment charges

AURELIUS — A 72-year-old woman was arrested Sept. 26 on charges of menacing and harassment following a neighbor dispute.

JoAnne Reeves of Aurelius was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Deputies and a state trooper were dispatched to an address in Aurelius at 4:05 p.m. for a neighbor complaint.

The victim told authorities that Reeves had made threats and threatened her with a shovel.

Reeves was arrested at 6:05 p.m. following an investigation.

She was taken to centralized arraignment where an order of protection was issued.

Reeves was released with a future court date for Aurelius Town Court.
