AUBURN — Members of the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to Greenview Circle on Sept. 28 regarding an unknown male chasing a female and her children while screaming at them.
Police said the female victim returned home from work where she was confronted by Christopher Bell.
During the confrontation, Bell aggressively charged at the female victim while yelling, causing the victim to retreat as she feared for her safety, according to police.
As the incident progressed and the children became more upset, the female told her children to run, police said.
The children and the woman retreated to a nearby residence for protection while police were contacted.
During the incident, officers discovered there was an active order of protection in place protecting the victim from Bell.
When officers attempted to place Bell into custody, he began retreating and resisted arrest, police said.
Bell was quickly taken into custody.
Bell was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony; aggravated family offense, a felony; two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; third-degree menacing, a misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
Bell was transported to the Cayuga County Jail where he was held for arraignment.
Bell was remanded to the custody of the Cayuga County Jail.
