Holyoke police arrest man on drug, trespassing charges

HOLYOKE — Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan announced Monday that officers arrested a suspect and seized narcotics after conducting a property check at 173 Elm Street.

Around 4 a.m. Oct. 6, Holyoke Police Officers Ashley Feliciano, Samuel Rodriguez and Samantha Cayer conducted a property check at 173 Elm Street.

Officers observed a male subject, later identified as Santiago Soltren-Ramirez, in the hallway of the apartment building.

Soltren-Ramirez did not live there and was arrested for trespassing.

During a search of Soltren-Ramirez, officers recovered approximately 80 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl and more than $100 in cash.

Soltren-Ramirez has a previous conviction out of Northampton District Court for drug distribution and a previous conviction out of Holyoke District Court for drug possession.

Santiago Soltren-Ramirez, 37, of Holyoke is charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class A drug – subsequent offense, possession of a Class A drug – subsequent offense, and trespassing.
