SPRINGFIELD — Springfield police officers seized a loaded firearm and crack cocaine while arresting two suspects in connection with a gun call and disturbance Saturday at approximately 9:40 p.m.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Monrovia Street around 9 p.m. for a gun call.
Officers arrived and observed two subjects, later identified as Rey Garcia and Shania Sanchez, yelling on a porch.
Officers had received information that during this disturbance a victim saw Garcia with a firearm.
The same suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the same victim in a prior altercation on Sept. 20.
Officers detained Garcia and Sanchez.
During a search of their vehicle, officers located a loaded firearm and a bag of crack cocaine.
Both Garcia and Sanchez were placed under arrest.
Garcia, 23, of Springfield is charged with improper storage of a firearm, stalking, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a Class B drug and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Sanchez, 21, of Springfield is charged with improper storage of a firearm, stalking, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a Class B drug.
