Manchester man arrested after chase on interstate in Ashland

ASHLAND — A Manchester man was arrested following a pursuit that started in Ashland.

At 6:17 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, a State Trooper assigned to the Troop F barracks attempted to stop a silver 2012 Subaru Legacy that was observed speeding on Interstate 93 northbound in Ashland.

The driver of the Subaru did not stop, continued to Exit 25 in Holderness, failed to negotiate the off-ramp, and drove off the road into the grass separating the interstate from the off-ramp.

The driver then drove through the grass onto the on-ramp and continued on the interstate with the front of the Subaru damaged.

A second Trooper attempted to intercept the Subaru as the driver took Exit 27 in Campton.

The driver continued onto White Mountain Drive and stopped at the closed gate to the White Mountain National Forest Headquarters.

The driver then fled while his passenger and dog stayed behind.

The Trooper pursued and took the driver into custody shortly after.

The driver of the Subaru was identified as Devon Knight Sanville, 22, of Manchester.

Sanville was arrested on charges of a felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest/detention, driving after revocation or suspension, reckless operation, speeding over 25+ mph over 70 limit, and misuse of plates.

Sanville was held on preventive detention at the Grafton County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Plymouth District Court on Monday, Oct. 6.

The incident remains under investigation.
