CROWN POINT — New York State Police arrested a 30-year-old Crown Point man for reckless driving and driving while intoxicated following a crash Oct. 1.

Logan M. Burgey was arrested after police responded to a property damage accident on NYS Route 9 in Crown Point at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Police said their investigation revealed that Burgey was driving a black 2013 Lincoln Continental when he lost control of the vehicle, exited the roadway, and struck a mailbox and a utility pole.

Emergency Medical Services evaluated Burgey at the scene, and he was deemed fit to receive medical attention at a hospital.

During the police interview, Burgey exhibited signs of impairment.

Officers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed.

Burgey was arrested and taken to the Schroon Lake State Police barracks, where he provided a positive breath sample showing a blood alcohol concentration of .16%.

He was processed and then released on an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Crown Point Court later in October.

Police said Burgey has a prior DWI conviction.
