Worcester police arrest Bronx man on drug trafficking charges after crash

WORCESTER — Worcester Police Vice Squad detectives arrested a New York man on drug trafficking charges after he crashed into two parked vehicles while attempting to flee Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:50 p.m. Oct. 2, detectives observed a drug transaction in the area of Princeton Street.

As officers approached the male suspected of dealing drugs, he attempted to flee by driving his vehicle at a high rate of speed.

The suspect crashed into two parked vehicles, then exited his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Detectives caught up with him and placed him under arrest.

Police found 70 grams of crack cocaine on his person.

Arik Halliman, 42, of Bronx, New York, is charged with trafficking cocaine, operating negligently to endanger and leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage.
