SPRINGFIELD — A 33-year-old Hampden woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly stealing from donation boxes at the Springfield Library and Springfield Museums, police said.
Springfield Police officers responded to the Springfield Library on the 200 block of State Street around 10:30 a.m. Sept. 27 for a report of larceny.
Two suspects allegedly cut locks on donation boxes at both the library and the Springfield Museums on Edwards Street.
Security guards attempted to stop the suspects when Karly Bond allegedly punched a security guard in the face, police said.
Officers located Bond on State Street and arrested her.
More than $500 in donations were recovered.
The second suspect escaped and police had been seeking the public’s help to identify him.
Police updated Sunday that the second suspect has been identified.
Bond is charged with breaking into a depository (two counts), possession of burglarious instruments, assault and battery, and larceny under $1,200.
