SCHOHARIE — State police arrested Jackson T. Goodman, 30, of Schoharie on Wednesday following a months-long investigation into child sexual abuse material.

Goodman was taken into custody at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 1 and charged with two felony counts.

He faces charges of promoting a sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a class D felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child less than 16 years of age, a class E felony.

The investigation began after state police received a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspicious online activity.

Multiple law enforcement agencies including the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, Princetown Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at Goodman’s Town of Wright residence.

Investigators seized multiple electronic devices during the search.

Forensic analysis of the devices revealed child sexual exploitation material.

Goodman was processed and arraigned in Schoharie CAP Court.

The court remanded him to Schoharie County Jail.
