Barre City man arrested in Plainfield on violation, disorderly conduct charges

PLAINFIELD — Vermont State Police arrested a 42-year-old Barre City man Tuesday morning after he allegedly made harassing calls to emergency dispatchers.

Cormick M. Cantwell was charged with violation of conditions of release and disorderly conduct by phone following an incident on Woodcock Road at approximately 7:23 a.m.

Police said they received several nonemergent 911 calls from Cantwell in which he harassed and threatened emergency dispatchers.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded and determined that Cantwell violated several of his active conditions of release and acted disorderly.

Cantwell was arrested and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

He was issued a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Washington County, Criminal Division, on Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m.
