Body recovered from Connecticut river identified as Shelton man

NORTH HAVEN — Police have identified a body recovered from the Quinnipiac River on Sept. 27 as Joel Auguste, 32, of Shelton.

The North Haven Police Department announced the identification Tuesday in coordination with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police said there are no overt signs of foul play but the investigation remains ongoing.

The department is working with the medical examiner’s office and Shelton police on the case.
