PORTLAND — The Portland Police Department announced they no longer require public assistance in locating John Maddocks after he was found to have recent police contact out of state.
Maddocks, 57, had been missing since the end of August when police initially asked for the public’s help in finding him.
The department had described Maddocks as 5 feet 5 inches tall, 155 pounds, with brown eyes.
Police had said he has a history of mental health challenges and may have been within Portland’s unhoused community.
The department thanked the public for their assistance in the search.
