WATERVLIET — Watervliet police officers conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law in the area of 19th Street and 2nd Avenue at approximately 1:28 a.m. Sept. 26.
The driver, April J. Dilallo, was found to be operating the vehicle with a passenger under the age of 12.
An evaluation was conducted by a Watervliet Police Drug Recognition Expert to gauge Dilallo’s level of impairment and ability to operate a vehicle.
Following the assessment, it was determined Dilallo was impaired by drugs while operating the vehicle.
During the investigation, officers located a small quantity of pills in Dilallo’s possession.
This arrest is Dilallo’s third DWAI arrest since 2023, with her most recent prior arrest occurring in May.
Watervliet Police charged Dilallo, a 40-year-old Watervliet woman, with Aggravated DWI-Leandra’s Law, a Class E felony.
She was also charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs Prior Conviction, a Class E felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.
Dilallo was released on an appearance ticket and ordered to return at a later date.
