WATERVILLE — Colby College notified the Waterville Police Department on Sept. 29 that they received a bomb threat via email claiming that an explosive device had been placed in a specific location on campus.

Members of the Waterville Police Department and the Maine State Police worked together to investigate the claim while Colby College evacuated two buildings out of an abundance of caution.

At this point in the investigation, police do not believe the threat to be credible.

The incident remains under investigation.
