PELHAM — Multiple 911 callers alerted Pelham Police and Fire Department personnel to a serious two-vehicle accident on Sherburne Road by Waterside Drive on Sept. 25 at 5:31 p.m.
Officers arrived and found a silver 2004 Ford Mustang and a blue 2016 Mercedes SUV both with heavy crash damage.
Sixty-year-old Normand Mercier of Pelham was identified as the driver of the Ford.
He sustained multiple serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lowell General Hospital via ambulance.
Sixty-two-year-old Lillian McLendon of Nashua was the driver of the Mercedes.
She sustained an injury to her arm and was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center via ambulance.
Officers investigated the crash and determined that the Mustang was traveling eastbound and crossed over the centerline into the westbound lane.
The Mustang was sideways when its passenger door struck the front center of the Mercedes in the westbound lane.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
Sherburne Road traffic was impacted for approximately two hours as first responders worked at the scene.
