NANTICOKE — A Maine man was arrested Sept. 24 after police say he intentionally struck and killed a pedestrian with his pickup truck following a dispute.
New York State Police arrested Nathanael J. Manwaring, 36, of Maine, N.Y., and charged him with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter.
State police from Binghamton and Endwell were dispatched at approximately 3:39 p.m. to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in a driveway on Lamb Road in the Town of Nanticoke.
An investigation revealed that Manwaring intentionally struck Rodney L. Clark, 41, of Binghamton, with his vehicle at a residence on Lamb Road following a dispute.
Clark was transported to Wilson Hospital by a private vehicle where he died from his injuries.
Manwaring was charged with murder in the second degree, a class A felony, and manslaughter in the first degree, a class B felony.
He was processed at State Police Binghamton and later transported to the Broome County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.
Investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit responded to the residence on Lamb Road and Wilson Hospital.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Department and the Village of Johnson City Police Department assisted state police.
