MIDDLESEX — A 23-year-old Naples man was arrested on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated and weapons possession following a traffic stop Sept. 24.
Dominick J. Abbott was pulled over by Yates County Sheriff’s deputies on State Route 245 in Middlesex at 7:13 p.m.
Deputies observed signs of impairment during their interaction with Abbott, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Abbott was administered field sobriety tests and subsequently arrested.
He was transported to the Yates County Jail for processing.
Further investigation revealed Abbott was in possession of multiple illegal weapons and drug paraphernalia, deputies said.
Abbott faces charges of aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, speed in zone, driving while intoxicated under common law, driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content over 0.08%, driving while ability impaired by drugs, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
He was held for arraignment at the next session of Yates County CAP court.
Deputies M. Morehouse, Sgt. D. Chisom and Deputy A. Garren responded to the scene.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
