New York troopers arrest woman wanted for murder

PORTLAND — New York State Police arrested a Michigan woman wanted on a murder warrant from Rutland police during a traffic stop on Interstate 90.

Terrene L. Biggs, 25, of Warren, Michigan, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and fugitive from justice on Sept. 24.

Troopers from State Police Dunkirk observed a 2024 Nissan Versa traveling westbound on I-90 in Portland at 2:35 a.m. operating over the posted speed limit.

Investigation determined Biggs had an active arrest warrant issued by Rutland police for second-degree murder and another warrant from Florida for assault.

Biggs was found in possession of suboxone during the arrest.

She was processed at State Police Dunkirk and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

Biggs will be held pending extradition to Vermont.
