Andes woman charged with DWI after Bovina crash

BOVINA CENTER — A 39-year-old Andes woman was arrested on driving while intoxicated charges following a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

Ashley O’Malley was charged after her vehicle went off County Highway 6 near the intersection with County Highway 5 and overturned on a resident’s property, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the crash and found O’Malley appeared to be intoxicated, Sheriff Craig S. DuMond said.

O’Malley was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.18% or more and driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors.

She also received traffic summonses for moving from lane unsafely and speed not reasonable and prudent.

O’Malley was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Bovina Town Court at a later date.
