CORTLANDVILLE — A 50-year-old Cortland woman was arrested on petit larceny charges after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Family Dollar store Sept. 22.
Angela M. Schmidt of North Church Street was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, according to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 1116 Route 222 at approximately 8:14 p.m. for a larceny complaint.
Investigators determined Schmidt stole merchandise from the store before leaving the scene.
Schmidt was located nearby and arrested at 8:30 p.m.
She was transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office where she was processed and released on an appearance ticket.
Schmidt is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Town of Cortlandville Court on Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.
