LEWISTON — A motorcyclist was killed Sept. 22 when a pickup truck turned in front of the motorcycle on Townline Road, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:24 p.m. in front of 4663 Townline Road, near Albright Road.
Multiple calls were received by the sheriff’s office communications center reporting the serious motor vehicle accident.
Information received indicated the motorcycle operator was unresponsive in the roadway.
Preliminary investigation showed the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Townline Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Albright Road.
The pickup truck turned in front of the motorcycle, which was southbound on Townline Road and believed to have been traveling at a high rate of speed.
The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
The names of the involved individuals are being withheld pending notification to family.
The investigation into the cause of the accident was turned over to the Niagara County Accident Investigation Unit and is ongoing.
