BETHEL — A 31-year-old Royalton man was arrested Sept. 18 on multiple charges including driving under the influence and attempting to elude police after a traffic stop on Route 107.
Lt. Anthony Leonard of the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department observed Tyler J. Garrant speeding on Route 107 at 6:11 p.m.
When Leonard attempted to stop the vehicle, Garrant fled, passing several vehicles in the process, according to the sheriff’s department.
The vehicle stopped when Garrant encountered heavier traffic.
Leonard suspected Garrant was driving under the influence during the traffic stop.
Investigators determined Garrant’s license was criminally suspended and he was required to have an ignition interlock device on vehicles he drives.
Garrant was charged with speeding, DUI, attempting to elude, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a required ignition interlock device.
He is scheduled to appear in Windsor court Oct. 7 at 8 a.m.
